In Their Own Words...
Jason served as the general contractor on a full gut renovation of the first floor of my house. I had a very specific vision for what I wanted it to look like. He oversaw the removal of walls, replacement of ceilings and floors, and the design and installation of a kitchen that looks absolutely nothing like what was there before. Not only did he successfully manage the plumbing and electrical contractors and construct what I wanted, but he suggested a few things that I would not have thought of that really took the renovation to the next level without adding a lot of extra cost. He also managed to get it done within the period of time that I needed and within my stated budget range. The finished product looks fantastic.
I hired Jason for a complete mstr bath reno in the fall '13. My wife and I had just closed on a 20yr old house that we had thought needed a little updating. Jason met with me in the evening hours several times prior to closing to go over design and layout possibilities for the room. He gave me multiple plans at different pricing levels that allowed me to decide how far I wanted to go with the reno.
Being cost conscious due to the realization of the down payment and closing costs that were about to hit our savings, Jason worked with me and allowed me to do some of the more laborious work to fit the plan into our budget. Materials did go over the original allowance by a bit but that is always to be expected when you are getting into a project like this. Jason did communicate necessary changes as they arose just as I had asked him to do throughout the reno. He always offered his opinion on the quality of chosen materials to be sure we we going to be happy with the final project.
Jason gave me an estimated time frame for completion and actually completed the work within it. It is always a gamble hiring a contractor to complete work within given time frame; especially around the Holidays.
The quality of his craftsmanship was good: framing, drywall, tile (floor and wall), large shower, glass shower door, and electrical. Jason had also exceeded my expectations when he took the time to help me out on his time with other reno projects that I was personally working on throughout the house. He genuinely seemed to care that I was doing things right and even lent me a few tools to use so that I wouldn't need to buy/rent them. Overall, we were very happy with the way the bathroom had turned out. I would, and already have, recommend hiring Jason/Blue Sky for your next project!
We could not have had a better experience! From the day we contacted Jason until after the work was finished he was professional, prompt, friendly, and did exceptional work. I can not recommend Blue Sky Construction highly enough. We will definitely be using Blue Sky again for all of our home remodeling needs!
I've used Blue Sky Construction for almost 10 years in two homes. In my first home, I had them completely redo the kitchen (cabinets, floors, backsplash, painting), finish a basement (walls, ceiling, new bathroom), design and construct a custom built-in entertainment center (floor to ceiling, 10 feet wide), install tile floors in various rooms, re-paint just about every room, designed and built a custom bar with a custom wooden light fixture over it, and other miscellaneous small home improvements.
My second home was a 3000 square foot "fixer upper". I was to move into it in 3 months with a 6 month pregnant wife. The house did not have a kitchen or floors (beyond subfloors). Every wall was damaged in some manner. It was a really tight timeline. Blue Sky Construction completed the job, working nights and weekends. The work involved installing brand new kitchen with new floors and backsplash. Every wall was repaired and painted (as well as most ceilings). About 1500 square feet of hardwood flooring was installed. The living room had a venetian plaster faux-finish done. 50% of the windows were replaced. Trim and baseboard was installed in most rooms. There were countless small repairs and re-inforcements done. Most doors were replaced. After this was completed, I've had Blue Sky Construction back to enlarge and redo a powder room, install an 8 foot wide sliding patio door, and build a play-room for my two year old son (with custom built floor to ceiling shelves). My second house is an on-going project. I constantly have little things that need attention. Blue Sky handles the little jobs too, even if it's just an afternoon of work.
Jason, the owner is vey easy to work with. While some of the basic work is subcontracted out, he's onsite, doing the major work, on every job. The quality of construction is top-notch and he uses high-quality materials. He has a sharp eye for color and can provide you with ideas and guide you through the project.
I grew up in a home where my parents had renovations going on constantly. One of the problems they had and I hear from others is how when the last check is handed over, the contractor is nowhere to be found regardless of whether the job is done. Blue Sky Construction stands behind their work. When you call Blue Sky Construction, you talk directly to the owner. I highly recommend them.
Blue Sky Construction is my go to renovation company! Jason did wood flooring in my home. He was able to easily help me understand how I could get the best quality materials and install at a fair price. Blue Sky Construction has great attention to detail, is very professional and treated me like I was a priority. No more Big Box stores for me. I will continue to look to Jason and Blue Sky for ALL of my renovation needs.
Jason has performed many jobs over the years for me ranging from high detailed painting, various tile work, and fine carpentry. I have always appreciated his attention to every important detail which most people do not do. He is experienced. He really goes out of his way to make things right. I would also say that his prices are in line and is pleasant to work with.
Blue Sky has done several projects for us over the past few years. Most recent was beautiful hardwood flooring in the main floor of the house. Good workmanship and easy to deal with.
Blue Sky did a complete kitchen tear-out and remodel in my home. Work was high-quality and performed in a professional manner. In the end, it took slightly longer than the original estimate, but I can't blame the company for this as many specs changed along the way from my end. Jason from Blue Sky was very happy to work with me to make the changes happen.
Would use Blue Sky again in the future for additional work. Very pleased.
